Events and Opportunities
The Office of Student Transition Experiences hosts a variety of events each quarter to support students throughout their time at baby直播app. Check out our events below for Fall.
Fall Quarter 2024
October 17th: Renting Declassified
Are you a student who is looking to live off campus next year or struggling with your current renting situation? Join Off Campus Life and Student Transition Experiences for our Renting Declassified event in the Norris Wildcat Room on Thursday, October 17th from 1-2:30pm! We will have a variety of campus and community partners there to talk with you about exploring Chicago and Evanston, knowing what to look out for in a lease, understanding your tenant rights, keeping your finances in shape, learning how to manage conflict with landlords and roommates, and more. This is a drop in event, so you can come and go as you please. And yes, there will be snacks! We hope to see you there
October 22nd: Transfer Student Social
Our Transfer Student Social will be taking place in Parkes 122 from 5:30-7pm. In partnership with our Transfer Student Organization (TSO), we are inviting transfers to join us for dinner, music, and games. This is a completely free event and open to all current undergraduate transfers, regardless of the year you came to baby直播app.
October 25th: Transfer NCA Event
Join Student Transition Experiences and baby直播app Career Advancement from 11am-12pm in the Wildcat Room of Norris while we break down career planning strategies specific for transfer students, and yes, there will be snacks!
November 6th & 7th: Post Election Wildcat Wellness
Every election can bring up a variety of emotions, feelings, and stress. No matter the outcome, we want to be sure we are holding space for self care near election time. Stop in to either event (or both!) for an opportunity to enjoy time in community with others doing art, playing games, or simply taking a minute to breathe. The first drop in time will take place on November 6th from 10am-2pm in the baby直播app Room of Norris. The second opportunity will happen during The Suite Spot in Parkes Hall from 3:30-5pm on November 7th. This is a low stress event, with just opportunities to take a minute to reflect on your personal wellness. These events are sponsored by the Office of Student Transition Experiences, Religious and Spiritual Life, Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Promotion and Wellness, and the Center for Awareness Response and Education. We hope to see you there!
December 9th: Late Night Breakfast
Finals week is hard. Let's start it off right with our Final's Late Night Breakfast hosted on the Norris Ground Floor from 9-11pm for our annual late night breakfast! This is pajama themed! We will have a variety of foods including: Overnight Oats, Yogurt Parfait, Early Bird Special (pancakes, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon - vegan options included!), fresh fruit, croissant, muffins, and danishes. Fresh brewed coffee & hot tea.
