How Students Obtain Cannabis
This chart shows the sources from which students obtain cannabis. Many of the students who indicated the "other" option likely obtained cannabis by purchasing it at a legal cannabis dispensary, which was not provided as an option in this survey. The data can be broken down by a number of demographic options using the drop down menu.
Of Note:
- The survey indicates the most common source of cannabis is "other". As indicated above, most of the students who indicated the "other" option likely obtained cannabis by purchasing it at a legal cannabis dispensary.
- Students also obtain cannabis from a variety of other sources, including friends at school, from a dealer, and friends at home.
- There is significant variety in how students obtain cannabis, particularly between those over and under 21, which is the legal age to purchase cannabis. Freshman and sophomore students under 21 are most likely to obtain from friends at school. Seniors and graduate students are by far the most likely to have indicated "other", which suggests purchasing cannabis at a dispensary.
